Quick Reads Book Giveaway

To celebrate World Book Lovers’ Day SaTH Libraries in partnership with SaTH Charity are giving away free quick reads books to staff.

Pick up your free book from either Telford or Shrewsbury Health Library on Tuesday 12th August from 8.30am – 4.30pm.

If you work off site and would like a free book, please send an email to either sath.telford.library@nhs.net or sath.shrewsbury.library@nhs.net on Tuesday 12th August (any emails sent before 12th August date will not be sent a book) with your name and full work address. 

With a huge thank you to the SaTH Charity “Small Things Make a Big Difference" fund for providing the books.

Terms and conditions: Books will not be given out before 8.30am on Tuesday 12th August 2025. Books are given out on a first come, first served basis. Books cannot be reserved or held. One book per person. While stocks last. Books are given at random, there may not be a choice of titles available.

Experience of Care Week

Experience of Care Week is an international initiative to celebrate the work that is happening across health and social care to keep improving experiences of care for patients, families, carers and staff.

Experience of Care Week runs from the 25th to the 29th April 2022, and to celebrate the library will have displays with posters, books and useful information available at both sites.

Our librarians have put together a guide with links to useful journal articles about patient experience which is available to download - Experience of care week materials or you can pick up a paper copy from the library.

Making borrowing even easier!

We’ve recently introduced automatic renewals on our books, with 5 auto-renewals for 28 day loans, and 10 auto-renewals for 14 day loans.

This means that unless the book is reserved by someone else, or has come from another library, you won't need to worry about forgetting to renew your loans as we'll do it for you.

We’ll still send reminders about what you have out on loan, and we'll let you know if we’re unable to auto-renew your books for any reason.

This is something we've been asked about for some time, and thankfully due a library system upgrade we've been able to introduce it. If you have other comments on library services, or if there are services or resources you'd like to see, you can fill out our library survey until the end of January and be in with a chance to win a £20 book token. You can also contact us at any time with feedback or suggestions.
